Children Dentistry 3yrs and up
Children are at the highest risk of cavities because they eat more frequently and have not become experts at brushing their teeth. It is very important that their teeth are brushed at least two times daily with fluoride toothpaste. Now is the time to encourage good habits. Parents are especially important at keeping their kids enthusiastic and motivated about caring for their teeth. Your children are always welcome to come with you to your appointments at Parke Dentistry. We are a child friendly office and recommend your child’s first visit to take place around the age of three.

Some helpful tips:
  • Brush twice daily-parents help your children
  • Brush for two minutes and concentrate on the chewing surfaces and the back teeth, where cavities grow.
  • Use a pea-sized amount of fluoride toothpaste to brush. Teach your child to spit out any toothpaste left after brushing.
  • Don’t share brushes between children
  • Change your child’s toothbrush every 3-4 months and after any illness or infection
  • Floss between your child’s back teeth-flossing forks are helpful
